Hi

There are 8 of us going to be staying at one of the bungalows in the Drimsynie Estate at the end of Jan.

Would anyone know of what public transport is available to the area ?(travelling from Glasgow) - and also if anyone has stayed in the area before and has any hints/tips on what do to/where to go/good places to eat etc - that would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I am sure there is a bus from Helensburgh that leaves outside the train station that will take you there, it is the Carrick Castle bus, I don't know the times but maybe the H/Burgh train station could tell you!!.

I have been to the estate for walks etc but never stayed, there seems plenty to do what with having the Bar, sports area etc and there is also Lochilphead not too far away although I think there's only the Hotel Bar there!!. Hope you have a lovely time, the scenery is spectacular.

Maria.

The Shore House - 5-10 mins walk from most of the cottages has great meals with fabulous views & a cosy bar (no view from bar) terrific real local ale, & is altogether a really nice place. The Goil Hotel is deep fried everything, no decent beer but makes for a nice photograph....lots of other places to eat within a 1/2 hour drive our favourites are the George at Inveraray, the Oyster Bar at Cairndow & the Coylet Inn on Loch Eck.
