I've yet to pen a review of our impromptu visit to Junction 28 (just off junction 28 of M4) a few days ago, but I wanted to give a heads-up to anyone who is on the look-out for a super dining venue with lovely staff.
We took our chances and pitched up at lunchtime without a booking, in need of light refreshment. I didn't know what to expect as I've never been to Junction 28 before but it had come highly recommended. It hadn't occurred to me that they might be poised for a busy festive lunchtime service and be full to the rafters with diners. Silly me!
Even though we weren't looking for the full three course christmas lunch they managed to find us a table; which was beautifully laid complete with christmas crackers, a basket of assorted home-made breads and flavoured butters.
As we were only wanting a light lunch they suggested we choose a starter and perhaps some side dishes, and thats what we did. Both the food and decor were quite stunning, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating and enthusiastic. They were so busy I wouldn't have blamed them if they had turned us away, but I was so glad they had room at the Inn. We really must go back and have the full monty next time. Highly recommended, and a very handy place to break your journey along the M4 near Newport.
