Re food near Pratts - what type do you like? There are numerous good restaurants right on your doorstep abut you are also only 5 mins walk from the centre of Bath - you are spoilt for choice. Give us a few more clues!!

IMHO the one thing you must do is the Roman Baths, followed by an open top bus tour (you'll appreciate the architecture all the more!) - after that you have to choose from a multitude - afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms (next to the Roman Baths) especially if the musicians are playing........

Enjoy!

There's a nice Thai Restaurant, the Mai Thai, practically next door to Pratt's Hotel. Quite small but good food, reasonably priced and nice atmosphere.

The Roman Baths is a must, perhaps the adjoining Pump Rooms too, although it can get busy. Then I would just take a meander through the city - around the Abbey and the passages along side the main shopping streets, up the Assembly Rooms, Circus, Crescent and Royal Victoria Park.

For something a bit different for a meal you could try the Nepalese restaurant Yak Yeti Yak (www.yakyetiyak.co.uk) on Argyle st, near Pulteney Bridge. I've never actually been, but it's meant to be quite good.

There isn't anywhere like you describe, except a small tgi's next to the odeon cinema. just up from Pratts-come out of pratts, turn right, right at the end and right at the lights-it takes a minute! is north parade, where the fantastic onefishtwofish is situated. Not just fish! very kid friendly-the owners have 3! Trust me it's fab! Let the kids run around the play area at Victoria Park, visit the wonderful Dell and Botanical Gardens. go to the Italian ice cream shop in Bog island (just up road from Pratts) huge portions and delicious! Go on a bus tour, look at the cool and interesting shops in Walcott Street. Roman Baths are great. Best afternoon tea at The Royal Crescent Hotel-not pump rooms-but if you don't mind the tea not being very good, the pump rooms have live music in the afternoons.

Have fun

There's a quite good Balti Indian restaurant on Argyle St right near Poulteney (sp?) Bridge. It's called PRIA. It's very reasonably priced and the food is great.
