Sunday lunch in or around Bath

Can anyone recommend a good pub, in or around Bath, for Sunday lunches? We are looking for somewhere that serves Sunday roasts, has good beer, can seat groups ranging from 6 t0 12, and has parking.

We get together for family occasions 4 or 5 times a year. We used to go to The Blathwayt in Lansdown, but that has gone down hill, so we recently tried the Hare & Hounds on Lansdown Road. The food there was good, but the portions were a little small, especially considering the prices.

Any recommendations gratefully received.

The Curfew serves a d*mn good Sunday lunch - £14, which is more than the normal pub fare on a Sunday, but for a reason: it's much better. Parking in the car park at the bottom of Walcot St, 10 mins walk away.

You can eat in the main bar, or there is a dining room upstairs.

Thanks for that, Roman Citizen. Unfortunately a couple of our group are elderly and can only walk a few yards.

The Hop Pole is lovely and has a restaurant area separate to the bar seating, a good menu and good prices. Others I would suggest are the George at Bathampton, The Bathampton Mill, Graze, which is the new Bath Ales place near the train station or the Bear on Bear Flat.

The food at the George is distinctly average.
