Cricket Trivia

I wonder if we have any cricket buffs on the London Forum, here's a bit of cricket trivia to test out the theory.

When Andrew Strauss scored a hundred in the last test he was only the third England player to do so when captaining the side for the first time.

The first was Archie MacLaran back in 1897/98, but the other was more recently, in the last 30 years.

Who was it?

(I'll check any answers when I get home from work)

The reality is that Australia have a much richer seam of cricketers than beers.

Aussie, I have been to Australia in 1990 and 2000. Consumed some of your rarer beers which tasted fine. And, although I have not checked the definition of a Pommie, I suspect that it does not include Irishmen within its parameters. Scarcely surprising given the amount of Irish convicts who contributed to the making of the Lucky Country. But the essential premise of my earlier post still holds good. You have produced more successful cricketers than noteworthy beers.

How to upset someone from Melbourne in 3 easy steps.

Criticise their beer, their cricket and Aussie Rules Footie.

So, 2 out of 3 so far, anyone want to make it 3 out of 3 :).
