I am planning my next trip to London. Normally I purchase a visitor 7-day zone 1-6 travelcard, but next time I am considering an Oystercard. However, I do have reservations. A 7-day travelcard costs me x pounds and will take me anywhere I want to go for a 7 day period. If I purchased a 50 pound Oyster card, would it work the same way as a travelcard? My understanding of an Oyster card is that it charges per trip, so if I make lots of trips in a day (as tourists are wont to do), won't it end up being more expensive per day than a travelcard? Can someone explain it in layman's terms please? I like the simplicity and ease of use, but I worry that it will end up costing me more than if I had purchased a paper travelcard.
