Transport from Heathrow Central Bus station to Terminal 5

I am getting the X26 from Sutton to Heathrow and would like to know how I then get to Terminal 5. I am worried about wasting too much time. It will be about 7am in the morning. Appreciate any information. Thanks

I'd get off the X26 at Hatton Cross and get the tube - you'll be at T5 almost before the bus has got to the CBS

You will have to pay though. If you carry on to the CBS it will be free (on the Heathrow Express) but you might have to wait 15 minutes to get one.

In 2009, following a mix-up when booking a car park, we travelled between terminals on the Heathrow Express / Heathrow Connect service, which at that time at least was free of charge.

Use Heathrow Express trains for a free transfer between Heathrow Central and Terminal 5. This quick, convenient service runs every 15 minutes and the journey takes about three minutes. Please ensure you board the correct train as Heathrow Express also runs non-stop to London Paddington.

Heathrow Central is between Terminals 1 and 3, which are a few minutes' walk away via underground walkways and are signposted from the platforms. The Terminal 5 rail station is in the basement of the terminal and linked to check-in and arrivals by express lifts.

Alternatively, the 441 and 724 buses provide a free transfer between the terminals, taking 10 and 20 minutes. The N9 night bus, which runs between 23:55 and 04:55 (times vary at weekends), also takes ten minutes.

Services stop at the Terminal 5 bus station (next to the terminal) and the Heathrow central bus station (between Terminals 1 and 3).

Please be advised, bus service 441 travels from Terminal 4 to Heathrow Central and also from Terminal 4 to Englefield Green. The front of the bus will be clearly marked with its destination, but if you are unsure, please check with the driver.

Thank you for the helpful information. I will have to look at the times of the bus and then trains from either Hatton or heathrow central to the terminal. Thanks

If you decide to get off at Hatton Cross then a 482 or 490 bus will take you to T5 for free. There is a bus roughly every 10-15 minutes during the week and the journey is via T4 and a couple of the cargo areas so takes about 20 minutes in all - not much slower than the tube which runs every ten minutes to T5 via the main station. Ignore timetables (except for the X26) as they are approximate.

The above will involve less walking than staying on the X26 and having to walk from the central bus station to the HEX station.
