Reliable B&B agency/ B&B in zone 1, London

Can anyone recommend a reliable agency dealing in B&Bs/holiday apartments in London? I'm looking to hear from people who have actually reserved accomodations through any such agency. I contacted At Home in London last year and found them satisfactory, but will not be doing so this year since they have only a few central London homes, none of which suits me.

Ivy Lettings has had good feedback here. They do flat rental, not B&Bs. I have never used them myself though.

Not quite sure what you mean but I don't think you'll find an agency dealing in both b&b and apartments and as you have found there is not much in the way of bed and breakfast in the traditional sense ( a room in someone's house where breakfast is served and rooms may or may not be en suite), but you could start by looking at the official London tourism site visitlondon and the usual suspects, booking.com (priceline), laterooms.com.

Ivylettings, coach house rentals, farnum and christ and refresh are reputable apartment letting agencies.

B&B's (as opposed to apartments) are much harder to find in zone one so you might have to be a little flexibly either in location or quality. At Home In London have probably the widest range and you could also try The Bed & Breakfast Club - thebedandbreakfastclub.co.uk/properties/…

Thanks for your feedback people, I will indeed check Ivy Lettings out. Parkandwalk, I was indeed referring to accomodations in people's houses, although I'm not sure how 'traditional' the place I stayed in last year was. It was an en-suite room at the home of a lovely lady, who provided a sort of continental breakfast in the kitchen. In that sense, it was a typical bed & breakfast, but it wasn't a picture-book, old-fashioned, farmhouse b&b:-) I had a good time, saved a considerable sum of money and did not have to settle for a typical, cramped London hotel room. The only problem is that it's in Parsons Green, which doesn't suit my busy schedule this time. Finding similar accomodations around Zone 1 would be fantastic, and it appears there are quite a few agencies dealing in that sort of thing; so if anyone ever found accomodations through such an agency - let me know!

I think Adam and I are saying that there aren't many(and you already have one) because there is very little traditional b&b (I meant the type of service not the type of property btw) in z1, in fact in most of London. What there is tends to be well outside - Z2/3 which doesn't sound as if it will meet your needs.

You are more likely to find a selfcatering studio (in the links above) or a small hotel with bed and breakfast.

You might also try airbnb. It's fairly new so I can't comment on how good or reliable it is but it is sound.

All in all, you guys are right. Luckily I've just got a respond from a recommended hotel listed here (the Jesmond Hotel) saying that they have suitable room, so I'm going to book with them. Anyhow, for the benefit of anyone that might search the database here for a similar service, here is a link to the reliable agency I booked with last year:

My husband and I are staying here in April. All of my correspondence with the agency has been very promptly returned. thebedandbreakfastclub.co.uk/property/…

I'm staying in the property in Knightsbridge right now (for the second time) and I will assure you will have a very enjoyable stay! It's very good located with two undergrounds and lots of buses within a couple of minutes walk. (Although I prefer to walk everywhere). A Waitrose (supermarket) is also a 3-4 minutes away and there are 2 pubs literally outside the door!
