Hi friends,

Someone told me that the "changing of the guard" outside Buckingham Palace will be stop after September (every year), is it correct?

I am planning to UK in October 2nd, that means I will miss it?

Hi iamahappygirl,

The Changing of the Guard at "Buck House" happens on alternate days from Sept thru March. They will not change the Guard if it's raining. Get there early if you want a good spot.

Here are the web links.

Hello, just a bit of clarification. The Guard at BP is changed (mounted) every day. During inclement weather it is just the militart directly involved in the changing (mounting). No bands, fanfare etc.

A more intimate, yet still ceremonial mounting takes place at Horse Guards Arch or parade (field) each day. Here's the information:

Horse Guards Arch - the Changing of the Guard takes place daily at 11 am (10 am on Sundays) and lasts about half an hour; it is normally held on Horse Guards Parade by the arch of Horse Guards Building.

So, you will not miss out on Guard mounting. It goes on 365 days per year.

Have a great trip.

Hi Snow baby,

I really enjoyed the Buckingham Palace tour, so I would say yes, it's worth it. The Queens Gallery (next to the palace) is also worth a visit.
