We will be in London Saturday night. Any suggestions for a great musical would be very appreciated.

I think Lord Of The Rings has finished now. Elvish has left the building?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I like the sounds of Blood Brothers, Billy Elliott, We Will Rock You and Avenue Q. Hopefully one will be available for us at Leichester Square!

Will post a review of our trip when we return on the 17th. Cornwall, London, Edinburgh, Orkneys and Glasgow should keep us hopping!

Thanks again

"I think Lord Of The Rings has finished now. Elvish has left the building?"

By the stage door judging by the amount of equipment piled up in Russell Street this lunchtime.

Just a note....I just booked tickets for Stomp in November through theatermonkey so apparently they have extended their run. My husband and son-in-law outvoted the women on this one although I think we will all enjoy it!

Operas are musicals too, and the ticket prices are often lower than for West End productions.

Holland Park

www.rbkc.gov.uk/ohpseason/general/default.asp

Royal Opera House (ROH), Covent Garden

http://esales.roh.org.uk/home/index.aspx

and the ROH sels unsold tickets at 1/2 price from 4 hours before a performance.

I was in London last month and saw Les Mis, and Phantom of the Opera. It was my first time seeing Les Mis, and I enjoyed it so much that I went back to see it again (bought a tickets a few hours before the Saturday matinee show). However, the seats in Queen's Theatre are quite squeaky, and I was unfortunately stuck beside a man who would not stop moving in his seat throughout the three hours. The current Phantom cast is fantastic. I've seen the show a few times last year during its US tour, and saw it a few times again in London because the cast is absolutely fantastic. Plus, the current Phantom is a fellow Canadian, from Toronto :)

"I think you will find that Les Mis has been running in the West End for 23 years and so many of us Brits actually know the tunes and all the words so sing along. "

I hope you're not actually encouraging audience members to sing along during the show itself!
