In September I'll take my wife to England for her first-ever visit to Europe. We plan to spend the first two nights/two days in a town outside of London - then head into the city for 4-5 days. (After that, it's to France.) I've heard Bath is a great place to go to visit outside London, yet a travel agent suggested Canterbury instead. We will not have a car. So what do you think? Is Canterbury a good place to introduce my wife to England? Or should it be saved for a (hopeful) subsequent visit?
