Lower Slaughter, opp Pike House bus stop

Hello:

I plan to take the bus from Lower Slaughter back to Moreton-in-Marsh

The bus website says the bus stop is opp Pike House

I tried Google maps but I couldn't locate the Pike House

Does anyone have any knowledge as to the exact location of this bus stop?

Is it somewhere between the junction of Copsehill road - A429 and the gas station?

Thanks

Try "Slaughter Pike, Lower Slaughter, United Kingdom" in google maps.

Both answers are correct - if you zoom in close enough you will find that the bus stop on the filling station side of the A429 road is called "opposite Pike House".

standing on the right side of the photo - the stop is unmarked but you can see the sign for the opposite stop.

Hi Jay

You will be fine

Just ask someone in the village when you get here an they will help you

There probably be someone else waiting too,so you can join them.

You can have some good conversations in bus queues, usually discussing the weather!

Enjoy your stay in this special part of the country

Unfortunately the bus stop is not in the village and is in a remote location on a main road, so I regret that on this occasion most of the comments in the last post will not be correct.

So its so remote the locals won't know where it is, and can't answer a straightforward request in say the post office , shop or pub?

If I don't have access to the Internet, I ask someone.

Presumably our OP is arriving from M -in-M by bus so why not ask the bus driver as he is getting off the bus, where the bus will stop for the return Journey

It's the sort of place where the bus will probably stop wherever you want it to - but you'll have to stick your arm out to indicate to the driver you want to get on or it'll go past you.

I mention this particularly as the OP may be unfamiliar with British bus stop etiquette and "request stops"

No it's not that sort of place - the bus will only stop at official bus stops or possibly in a layby. The road is far too busy for it to stop between stops - I'm fairly sure there are no stopping regulations on it. It's a trunk road in all but name.

Lower Slaughter is down a minor road from it - if buses ran down it they probably would stop anywhere.
