Sunday Lunch in Dartmouth

Holidaying in Dartmouth in October and wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere for a good value Sunday lunch (either in Dartmouth or within 20 miles)? It's a relaxed holiday so don't want to have to get dressed up - a good pub Sunday lunch! Any suggeestions?

Thanks.

I don't know anywhere in Dartmouth and I don't live locally, but we'll be in the area nxt month and intend to try these two pubs while we're there.

If anyone has any info on either them, feedback would be good.

For me there is only one place for a good Sunday lunch in Dartmouth and that is the Royal Castle Hotel http://www.royalcastle.co.uk/index.htm They do a carvery on a Sunday lunchtime in their main resturant and do 2 sittings, book for the first the food is fantastic at both I just find it slightly fresher at the first sitting. I am not normally a carvery fan but theirs is fantastic value, you get a choice of starter, they always have 3 meats, a fish and veggie option and a wide range of desserts go back as mant times as you have room for!

It may look dressy and some people do get more dressed up but I have taken our dogs for a walk on a local beach then gone straight in in the same jeans etc as we ran out of time to get changed and no one batted an eyelid.

Do book at least a couple of weeks in advance and ask for a window seat as it overlooks the boat float and the Estuary,

The Tower in Slapton used to be great then went a bit down hill I hope it has improved again, we have given up on it personally as we find it is trying to be something it is not and is really expensive for what it is. Parking is fun in Slapton as well, they have a car park but you can only get tiny cars up the road into it, you will see what I mean when you get there!.

The Millbrook is lovely and one of my husband's favourite pubs!

We love the Hunters Lodge in Cornworthy tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g1545757… for eating as well they don't have their own website which is a shame but they do serve great food plus they have a car park which is a big bonus!

Quite happy to answer any questions about Dartmouth as we have a house there so know it well.
