hotel near park and ride chester

Looking for a hotel near park and ride, not bus stop

Privately owned not corporate hotel etc.,

Looking for my parents who are in their 80's

They have stayed at Carden park but did not like the free for all at breakfast time so would prefer breakfast served.

Thanks

1. Re: hotel near park and ride chester

Problem is the park and rides are out of town close to big hotels, Mercure, Holiday Inn etc or in case of Wrexham Road in a business/ retail park area. No private hotels or B&Bs nearby. Probably best is the innkeeper's Lodge Cheshire Cat at Christleton, though they only do continental breakfast not service at the table. Near the Boughton Park P&R though.

If you could say why they need to be near park and ride rather than bus stop we may be able to offer more suggestions. Do they want to drive to the park and ride ? if they just want to get the bus they should be aware that they have to pay £2 each to get into the city from a P&R whereas they could use bus passes on ordinary buses

There are many private hotels on Hoole Road , for example, from where they could catch a bus if need be. These are the small hotels recommended as close to the zoo ( one of the P&Rs) though they are at least 1.5 miles away and staying there would involve driving away from the city to get to the P&R.

If they just need somewhere that does not involve much walking to get to the city centre let us know and we can advise

Hi

My mum is not very good on her legs so cannot stand at a bus stop etc., so wanted to drive to park and ride and get onto a bus.

They are coming from Preston so that end of town

Maybe a hotel in town but would need parking.

Have a look at

http://www.mickletraffordmanor.co.uk/

On the right side of Chester for Preston M6-M56-M53 to A56 junction then left down A56 away from city centre for half a mile or a bit more. Back at M53/A55 they have choice of driving left to Boughton Park P&R ( the nearer of the two) or left at nearby A41 to Zoo P&R .

Another point re the Park and Ride. Almost certainly they will have to queue to get back on it from the city centre, though there are a few places to perch in the shelter. The buses come about every 15 mins at peak times but queues can get quite long and people who want a seat often choose to wait for the next bus.

They may feel it worth getting a taxi if Mum is flagging as the Manor is only a couple of miles from the city centre.

Mickletraffordmanor is booked up! the dates we want, but that is the kind of hotel we are looking for.

Would like bed and breakfast evening meal, it is actually my dads 80th birthday they are going away for.

Hi,

A hotel on Hoole road would be good we have not stared at The Green Bough but my wife has had a nice meal there. A taxi from Hoole road in to the city would be pretty cheap as it should be less than a mile or two.

Edgar house looks fantastic, but bit expensive when you add breakfast and they also wanted dinner!

Thanks for suggesting though.

Have you looked at Green Bough? I was also going to suggest there and they have a Dinner Bed and Breakfast offer at the moment. Still not cheap though . Not many places in Chester other than chain hotels do evening meal because there are so many restaurants in Chester that most visitors want to eat out.
