Renting a car on a weekend

Hello all

I am going to be in Cambridge later this month and was hoping to rent a car on a sunday to drive to Bath,, stay overnight and return the next day via the Cotswolds...problem is I can't seem to find any company open on Sunday morning or able to accept a return after business hours on a Monday. I did find one company here in Australia who were not able to guarantee a Sunday delivery but wanted a ridiculous 267 dollars for the two days..this was for an automatic, but I would be ok with a manual

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am very used to driving on the left side of the road, and we have plenty of roundabouts in Australia, so I can't think driving would be a huge challenge?

If you can't find a car hire in Cambridge you would be able to hire a car from Stansted airport, which is 30 miles away from Cambridge and served by train/coach from Cambridge.

Most UK rental companies do not open city branches on Sundays.

However, recently Europcar have started opening some branches on Sunday, including Cambridge. However - I would not expect them allow you to return after hours - the depot is on a busy road with no street parking.

(Europcar also trade as Alamo and National in the UK).
