Ferry Crossings to France

Hi folks planning to drive over to spain. I wanted to know which is the best and cheapest ferry crossing to france, going over end of july.

do open return crossings exist? like flying.

It depends what you mean by 'best'. Different ferry crossings will have different impacts on driving times at either end. Most ferry crossings (at least the brittany ones) don't offer return fares.. you just select the separate crossings. If you wanted, you could take the ferry all the way to Spain to reduce driving times, at extra cost. Cheapest will be one of the Dover/Calais options.
