My husband and I, together with our 2 year old girl, will be going to Cape Cod for Memorial Day. We are leaving the NYC area late on Thursday May 23rd and leaving the Cape on Tuesday, May 28th to avoid traffic as much as possible.
So, we have the whole day on Friday, all of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. On Tuesday, I was hoping to leave the Cape early and go to Newport, RI on our way home.
We are staying in South Yarmouth at the Riverview Resort. My understanding is that South Yarmouth is sort of in the middle of the Cape, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Our daughter has a fairly set schedule. She wakes up early and she naps (usually in the crib, NOT in the stroller) from about 1-4pm. She then goes to sleep at about 8-8:30. Therefore, our activities need to be limited to the 8-12pm window and then to the 4-8pm sindow.
One last factor- I will be 32 weeks pregnant with our second.
We are being optimistic and taking our bikes with us- we tried biking last weekend and I was still quite capable of going on a completely straight paved surface. So, that being said, we would welcome suggestions for some VERY EASY biking that we could do. Hopefully along some sort of promenade, boardwalk, etc.
We are looking for excellent lunch and dinner suggestions, especially if they are near some attractions. Child friendly, yes, but delicious is also important. Our daughter is a good eater and generally not that fussy of a kid, so even slightly nicer places are okay, as long as they dont terribly mind an occasional toddler.
We would also love to take a ferry to Nantucket or Martha's vineyard and welcome suggestions about that.
All other activities, both indoor and outdoor, are incredibly appreciated. We like to stay active and do fun things, obviously with the consideration of our limitations.
Thanks in advance!!!!
