Too much inclined towards Italy...
Indeed. Especially Tuscany region.
"Tapas, tapas and more tapas awaits you in San Sebastian. Local ham is always a good bet, as is fresh seafood, but if you see something unusual on the menu, go for..."
Tapas? Local ham? With an opening like this, you have to wonder who's writing this stuff. One more reason why the Top Lists on TA are suspect at best.
Totally agree. I've never read an article on san sebastian that wasn't at best 50% fiction.
I guess a few people confuse using the term "tapas" when referring to pintxos, but I'm really interested in the "local ham". I don't know of any producers of jamón ibérico in or around Donostia, but I could be wrong, after all it's right there on TA's top list.
just to clarify
about local ham...that´s more difficult, but he probably also thinks that we dance and sing flamenco over here, in our sunny resorts...
I came for the basque ham, but i stayed for the molecular cuisine...
The person who wrote that intro to san sebastian has absolutely no idea what they are talking about. It's embarrassing.
Even to the point that it's the fish more than the seafood that donosti is famous for. For seafood, better head to galicia.
And they don't even mention sangria, paella, bullfighting and sevillanas. Tiipical basque...
