1000 Island and/or surrounding area

We are organising a boys trip in the 1000 islands area. We have few guys from UK, meeting a few more in Toronto before we head to the destination.

We are only available for 3-4 days late july, which rules us out of most cottages as they are a week only at peak seasons. I have also asked for a few houseboat quotations, but it is looking like over 2k, which is too much for a few nights with food/drink on top.

We have the equipment to camp, but were thinking of getting canoe's and camping on different islands or shores each day? Is that something which is viable, or are there any similarly adventurous ideas?

Any help/inspiration would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure if anything like this is available in the 1000 Islands, but you could consider a canoeing/camping trip at Frontenac Provincial Park.

I haven't heard of this option either. A canoe/camping trip is also available at Charleston Lake Provincial Park and this would put you a short drive away from the 1000 Islands.

If you are really set on staying on the islands in the St Lawrence, you should contact them directly to see what is available for you.

And contact 1000 Island Kayaking to see if they have any options available:

Actually I was just looking at their website and it looks like they have a guided weekend trip out to the islands starting on July 20th or you can rent kayaks for a few days and take a self-guided tour.

There are many nice short or all-day hiking options in the area. You can view some at:
