Honeymoon hotel in SLT?

We're spending a few days in SLT after a week in San Francisco on our honeymoon in early September and we're looking for a romantic, unique-feeling hotel but one that's not too pricey (say up to $250 a night) and is maybe within walking distance of restaurants/bars so we can both relax and have a drink OR has would be ok if we bought our own wine/picnic dinner and sit outside in the evenings, preferably with a good view.

Are we asking too much? We're not dead set on SLT, so if you know anywhere else on Tahoe that would fit the bill then please suggest!

Thanks in advance!

I generally prefer North Lake Tahoe, but assuming you are a younger couple, South Lake will have more to do.

Rates vary depending on the season, when is this for?

I'd start with The Deerfield Lodge at Heavenly, then the Marriott's Timber Lodge and maybe the Forest Suites Resort at Heavenly Village.

Marriott Timber Lodge is very nice in South Lake Tahoe. You may also want to check out The Black Bear Inn. Have fun! :)
