South Lake Tahoe/Heavenly Ski Resort Accomodations

Going skiing at Heavenly. Where to stay? Marriott Grand Residence (next to gonola) OR The Ridge Resort (next to stage coach lift). Is one more convenient than the other for skiing?

The Grand is convenient to everything. It is also a way better place than anything on the ridge.

WIll you only be skiing? Or after 4:00 will you want to do something else?

Thanks for the advice. After 4 we will have drink, sit in a hot tub and eventually head out for dinner somewhere.

From the Grand you can walk all around SLT for dinner or if you've used up all your drinks the day before you can run across the street to Raleys for more or for snacks. Not really that kind of access to convenience up on the Ridge.

Always seems isolated to me up there. Too far away from the stuff I'd want to do and if it's snowing even more of a pain to have to drive down the hill in the snow.

Of the two, choose the Grand Residence Inn. It's a beautiful facility, right in the heart of SLT.

I agree, the Ridge is too far away from Stateline area.
