Feeback on Location of a Rental in Heavenly

Hi! We have a big group coming to go skiing and found what looks to be a great ski-in, ski-out rental just above the Stagecoach Express lift on the Nevada side of the mountain.

1) Is this a good location for us to stay? Relatively easy transportation to and from town and the casinos?

2) It looks like the top of the Stagecoach has all blue runs. We have a couple novice-ish skiers who have been once before, but blues are about the extent of their braveness. Are these blues somewhat easy to ski or should that scare us off?

Thanks so much for your help!

I cannot comment on the property.....but as far as terrain, I can help out.

The terrain at Heavenly will not or should not scare them off. The only area that they should avoid is Killebrew and Mott Canyons........but that is obvious.

The blue terrain that you are mentioning will be perfect for your crew that you are describing......even for your novice crew........it is not anything that will put them in a dangerous situation........Heavenly terrain is well suited and has terrain for all levels.

It sounds like you are at the Ridge.

Your location is way out of town up off Kingsbury Grade (207). Easy transportation will depend on the weather. If you want to go to town you'll drive or take a taxi. It's 5 or 6 miles from the casino area. Not alot of public transportation arrive at the Ridge. http://tahoetransportation.org/transit/bluego

I encourage you to look for reviews of your property. Many of them up there do not get great reviews.

That location may be convenient to the lifts, but it is not convenient to anything else. The road from lake level is fairly steep and can get pretty icy in the winter.

Thanks for your help. The other place I found is in the Ashton Lakeland Village in a 4 bedroom place. It doesn't look like a ski-in, ski-out type of place, but would you all consider it a better location than The Ridge?

Ski-in, ski-out would be great for us, but I don't want to sacrifice TOO much for that benefit.....

Thanks for your help!

Lakeland Village is certainly not a ski in/ski out location. I have never stayed there, but it is on the lake and looks very nice. It is about a mile from the Heavenly Gondola so you will have to deal with transportation to the lifts.

Fortunately South Lake Tahoe has a great ski shuttle system so you can jump on and get right ot the lifts without worry about parking and walking.
