I am thinking of taking the family to Lake Tahoe area this year for some spring snow skiing and snowboarding over the Easter Holiday. This year Easter break falls between March 29 through April 7. What can I expect as for as weather, snow trail conditions, etc.? Do any of you guys recommend a ski resort? Right now it looks like we may be staying with friends near Northstar.
Northstar is a great resort! Our favorite in North Tahoe. Great mountain, great for skiing, and excellent for snowboarding. And they have a very nice village with several restaurants, bars, and a ice skating rink. Great place to get a drink and relax after a day in the snow.
Late March and early April usually have good snow.

Can't really predict the weather, but on average for that time, you'll be getting spring conditions with icy in the morning and getting slushy in the sunny areas in the afternoon. If you happen to hit during or right after a storm, then fresh powder!
