We're heading up to Whitehorse from Vancouver in October to work for 3-4 months. We were thinking of driving up, in order to bring our sled. I'm a bit worried re. road conditions and whether our car will survive the winter up there - I've heard they take a bit of a beating because of the conditions. If anyone's lived in the Yukon during winter, I'd appreciate any advice you could offer.
My other question was, if we did end up taking the car/sled up there, is there any car ferries that go back down to Vancouver during winter? Would this be our safest way out? If so, where do they leave from - would we have to drive to Alaska?
Any help is much appreciated!
