train travel question

We are traveling via train from Quebec City to Montreal. In Montreal we are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel (360 Rue St. Antoine Quest). Can someone please tell me what train station is closest to our hotel in Montreal to make our train reservation. Thanks

The one and only Via Rail station downtown is Central Station on La Gauchetière St.

There's only one train station in Montreal - the Central Station on rue de la Gauchetiere.

The Dorval station is in the suburbs, by the airport.

It is walkable from your hotel to the train station but with luggage you will prefer the taxi as you need to walk uphill. The subway is also a good option but also involves a lot of walking.

Actually, FROM the train station it's all downhill to the Intercontinental, and according to Google Maps, it's a 9-minute walk or 750M or 1/2 a mile or around 6 blocks. And I wouldn't do the subway for just 1 or 2 stops. Technically if you navigated all sorts of tunnels and escalators and detours and walked a lot, you could get there all underground, but hardly worth the trouble, especially with luggage, but if it's nasty out some day, it might keep you busy for a bit to try :)
