Hi! This September will be my first trip to Toronto for more than a few hours (3 days in fact) and I just had a few quick questions regarding the TTC day passes.
I'll be staying near Downsview station and when roaming around on the internet found a video of a person going through the station from street level down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uXqi18S8z0) and saw that she didn't have to pass through any turnstiles on the way to the subway platform. This confused me. Where would I buy a day pass there and where would I have to show it? Would I not have to show it until I'm exiting my destination station? I guess that would make sense seeing how you can only leave or arrive at Downsview and not pass through but I would appreciate some clarification.
Also, in regards to the day passes, I know you have to find a manned entrance to show the day pass to get into the subway area of each station. For the main stations downtown (most specifically St. Andrew, Dundas and Union Station) where are the manned entrances? I'd love to know where they are to avoid the hassle of having to search for them each time I want to use the day pass. Any information on any of the downtown stations, including ones I did not list, would be appreciated!!
Hope this all makes sense. Thanks so much for your help!
