I have a flight credit that expires in 30 days. I wanted to apply it to a ticket that I need to book for travel 2 weeks from now and I too have experienced the most disgustingly poor customer service imaginable. It is now the 4th day of trying to contact their call center and I can't get through because nobody picks up the phone. I have waited between 1 and 2 hours each attempt and finally hang up in disgust. I have called at 1:00AM, 9:30AM, 4:00PM and 8:00PM -same thing each time.

I have also emailed Expedia.ca twice and although the website proudly states that a 'representative' will respond.... guess what? Nothing. No response. My second email also demanded that I speak to a supervisor call me - still nada.

... disgusting and embarrassing (for Expedia management). What a terrible service.

Hi;

If you and the others that have posted comments here are having these problems, how many other people are having the same problems, but haven't been heard from?

Perhaps contacting a TV station would help.

I totally agreed with tdotcanada's frustration. I emailed Expedia.ca 3 times with regards to my travel credits and never heard from them. Called them at least 10 times (wasted over 15 hours holding for a CSR) and only managed to get through 3 times! On all 3 occassions, they told me they will do some investigations and promised to call me back. They LIED!!! No one called.

This is a huge disgrace to Canadian customer service standard!

I suggest Canadian travellers purchase their tickets using a "real" travel agent.

I too have been trying to contact Expedia for over two weeks in order to CANCEL a ticket. Our only contact has been a response to an email (after 7 days, not the advertised 24 hours) to say they wouldn't cancel a ticket based on an email instruction, that we had to telephone.

Well, two of us at work have sat on the phone for at least an hour at a time trying to get through. In fact, my phone is on hands-free right now and I'm listening to their scratchy classical music; it's been 1 hr and 17 minutes ... I think I'll hang up now.

The only solution I can think of is to turn up early at the airport on the departure day and tell the agent that the ticket will not be used, and hope that they can do something for us.

We will not be booking business travel through Expedia again. This is unfortunate, because it has been very convenient up until 2-3 weeks ago because of the ability to plan each leg of a complicated itinerary.

Thanks for listening!

can you not call the airlines directly if you want to cancel? Yes they will 1st tell you to call expedia... but you can explain to them what's going on.

Try calling the airline directly with whom you have the flight credit with, expedia holds your file, but the airline will should still be able to reinstate your new flights and charge you any difference in fare when rebooking.

Good luck

I echo that advice. My business travel has been booked mostly through Expedia for the past year, and it's never been a problem to deal directly with the airline regarding any changes or cancellations.

I was today on the phone with expedia from 8:15pm to 10:50pm. No representative - just music. I found this forum and called directly US AIrways, got a live person in about 30seconds, had my flight changed in about 5min. I will never again use expedia.

Nothing wrong with using Expedia to book your tickets. Just don't expect any after-service.

I am having a problem myself and am creating a website for it -- http://www.myexpediaexperience.com. If Expedia.ca continues on with this level of poor service I am going to start a forum dedicated to just that. It's amazing to me that this company can operate like this.

I have placed my email address there, so if anyone wants to send me information about their experiences, I would like to gather these facts.

I'm a bit amazed that these Expedia-related threads are still around, considering that TripAdvisor is owned by Expedia...
