polywog

Hi Polywog

I want your honest opinion on this please. We are currently booked at the Hilton.17to22 floor. You speak very highly of the Marriott . Right now I'm booked in at 249.99 for a two day package> the Marriott has a fallsview/whirlpool/fireplace floors 8 to 16. we have been to the Hilton before...loved it. Just want your opinion on the view from a lower level. I would love the jr presidential suite, but just a bit above my budget. To anyone else reading this polywog is the expert in Niagara falls. I hope TA reads this.

Aww thank you TL :)

I just adore the Marriott. The views from the 8-16th floor are awesome - they're completely unobstructed (as you can see from just looking at the hotel in real life) & the views from the higher floors at the Marriott give you a "eagle eye" view of the falls from border to border. You can see a lot of the pictures on the TA Marriott reviews. I don't know much about the Hilton, but it just looks like it wouldn't be as great as a view where it's positioned. The lower levels at the Marriott are just as beautiful. The view is, again, completely unobstructed. It's really just a matter of preference :) If you want, when you get to the front desk at the hotel, as to see a room on a higher floor and if you like it better, just upgrade at check in (if the hotel isn't filled to capacity) :>

I wouldn't recommend just walking into the hotel just because all rates are based on availablity, so if you come that weekend and for some reason it's busy, you'll end up paying a higher rate than what you would pay if you booked now. You've already stayed at the Hilton, right? So you probably already know what their fallsview rooms look like (which I haven't seen)

I got to eat the breakfast buffett at the Courtyard Marriott once, and it was awesome. There was like 20+ breakfast items + an eggs to order station. It wasn't cold and icky like I've heard a lot of the breakfast buffetts in the area are. I haven't been able to eat at the Terrapin Grille though =( But my supervisor once got a steak from there and omg did it ever look/smell amazing. I'd go w/ the two night package deal at the Marriott.. 2 breakfasts both mornings, $75 for dinner & shuttle passes.

I kind of lurk around OTC once in a while & post if anything catches my eye, lol

Hi Polywog,

Its me again with ,more questions for you........I hope you don't mind. Does the Marriott only have valet parking, can we use our dinner voucher on room service? The pictures look great on TA. The Jr Presidentail suite looks like it is booked more often then the Whirlpool/fireplace suite. I read a review that said some rooms on higher levels are smaller then those on lower levels. You said you had the breakfast at the Courtyard(been there twice) amazing breakfast.Do you think the Marriotts will be about the same. Hope I,m not double asking quetions. I picked up the phone a minute ago to call you..........lol Just getting excited( 1 month today)

lol it's okay.. if I didn't wanna answer I wouldn't ;D

The Marriott has $20/nt valet service, but you can always do the casino park & walk over, and you can use your voucher for room serivice (up to $75). The Jr Prez is booked a lot because usually it's only $20-$60 more to do that room. The only difference between the KingbedWhirlpoolFireplace suite & the Jr Prez. is that with the Jr Prez you get a seperate living room area with a second TV, pull out couch, and the fireplace is in the living room instead of the bedroom. The breakfast at the Courtyard is probably almost exactly the same as the fallsview - I doubt there is a huge difference. I haven't seen any complaints about the buffett at the Fallsview on TA yet.

Picked up the phone to call me..? lol .. I don't live in NF anymore, I'm in another city for college lol
