We are going to a wedding in Niagara-by-the-lake on 15th September 2014. As we are travelling from the UK we want to add to this to make it a holiday as well. We have been thinking about an RV tour for 2 weeks, probably after the wedding, with the Autumn colours in mind. Canadream RV rental have a suggested route called “Ontario’s Fall Foliage”. Obviously we could use another RV company. The route they suggest is Toronto, Shelbourne, Tobermory, Bruce Peninsula, Manitoulin Island, Sault-St-Marie, North Bay, Huntsville, Peterborough, Toronto. They suggest an extra day on Manitoulin Island, another in Sault-St- Marie and another at the South end of the Algonquin between Huntsville and Peterborough. We will be flying into and out of Toronto and will probably see Niagara Falls the day before or after the wedding so no need to include that in the tour.
A few questions if I may:
1. Any views on Canadream? Any other suggestions for an RV hire company?
2. Looking at Canadream’s website there seems to be a suggestion that getting on the ferry to Manitoulin Island with an RV might be a problem as they don’t take reservations at that time of year. Any experience out there?
3. Any views on whether 2 weeks before or after 15th September would be best?
4. What are the bugs likely to be like at this time of year?
I’ll no doubt have more questions later but that will do for now!
