Roughly around the second week of August, my family is planning on taking a quick trip to Nova Scotia. The "group" includes a 13 year old, a 15 year, and the parents. We only have one day in Cape Breton. I know, I know, we can't experience much on one day, but we just want to experience something. One day is better than none, right? :) Anyway, I believe that we'll be staying in Port Hawkesbury, though that could change if need be. We are interested in the outdoors-type stuff, as well as the heritage, like acadien villages and the like. So, any suggestions for a full day to experience what Cape Breton as to offer? Also, besides the Cabot Trail, we'd rather not drive any longer than say... Two and a half hours. Thanks in advance!
