Is Saint John Food cheaper+better than Halifax?

I'll be going to halifax after a short 1-day stay in saint john, i was just wondering if it's worth to enjoy my good meal in saint john, or in Halifax.

I am just a backpacker so I couldnt afford big meals everyday. =(

Thanks

I would say i perfer a lunch, instead of a dinner, since it's really unhealthy to eat too full for the night.

that being said, i love seafood, perferably lobster.

I am just going to dine perhaps by myself. unless i meet someone else along.

Something along the line. it's expensive in toronto. so i dont know what to expect in halifax.

hmm nothing over $40?

Try Billy's Seafood or Grannan's. You can eat very well at both for less than $40. That being said, there are some excellent options in Halifax as well, although you're likely going to end up paying more.

Steamers Lobster is a nice spot very rustic not to fancy and they have a website.

If you want to do it cheap...... go to the city market and buy a cooked lobster. There are picnic tables you can eat at attached to the market that you could eat at. Just ask them to make the larger cuts into the lobster for you so your work is easier.

You can get a small salad/roll and one of the other vendors.

To me, that is the nicest way to enjoy seafood in the city.

I personally think that Saint John has more "less expensive" good restaurants than Halifax.

Let me know if I can help further!

Hey all! Just want to tell you all that I had a great stay in the Maritimes, except the weather is very bad in early april.

That being said, I did manage to go to Grannan's for some seafood. had half lobster there, and some thai rice!

The waitress there is very nice, well, people in saint john are nice in general!

Next time I'd definitely try to do the "market" way!

I've seen the market. the prettiest indoor setting in Saint John, perhaps!
