Getting Married in Vernon

While I used to live in Vernon I don't anymore. I am however, getting married there in late May 2012. We want an outdoor wedding and the attending list is VERY small (like max 25 people including bride, groom and officiant.)

Our ideas so far include my Aunt's backyard, Polson Park, Kin Beach, and Paddlewheel park. Any other thoughts or ideas? I don't mind getting the permits for a place or renting a tent, but I do not want any church venues or anything expensive.

We are getting married in May 2012 as well. We actually opted for Kaloya Regional Park in Oyama. It's only about a 15 mins drive and the views are well worth it. You can rent the park for $179 and get it for up to 6 hours. They have a large gazebo at the top of the hill that could easily fit 25 people. Good luck :)

I would definitely make the trip just a little further into Lake Country. Winfield has a great outdoor park called Beasley Park - I'm not certain if they allow weddings but you may want to look into it.

If you were even toying with the idea of heading into Kelowna at all, check out Elysium Gardens http://www.elysiumgardennursery.com

Gatzke's in Lake Country also does weddings: http://www.gatzkefarmmarkets.com/wedding.html

How about Silver Star mountain? They are bound to have some outdoor wedding locations and they are probably really beautiful.

Here is the site for a cute little B&B in Vernon as well:

Hope that helps!
