Day tours to Victoria from Vancouver

We will spend 2 nights in Vancouver and would like to go to Victoria for the day on a tour since we will be without a car. Is there a particular tour group that is best for this trip are they all about equal?

You don't need a tour. Pacific Coaches go downtown to downtown. Be aware that is a 3.5 hour trip each way.

Welcome to the forum, Beth ~

If you would like to do an organized day tour from Vancouver back to Vancouver, have a look at:

Landsea Tours

West Coast Sightseeing

I believe these day tours are about 12 hours, return.

However, with only 2 nights one day in Vancouver, it seems counterproductive to travel the 4 hours one way to get to Victoria. If you could provide a bit more about your itinerary before and after these 2 nights in Vancouver, we could advise you much better. There may be more effective options to tell you about. Can't help very much with just this much info.

Our cruise gets in the early morning of Sept. 11 after a week in Alaska. We will have all of that day to see Vancouver. The next day we wanted to go Victoria. We will have a large part of the 13th since we plan to leave on the 13th in the evening on Amtrak to Seattle. This is all the time we have. We will fly back home on a red-eye from Seattle on Sunday night.

Thanks for the further information, Beth.

I think you will have a problem time wise getting to Vic and back on any day but the 12th. You need to be at Pacific Central Station by 4h45 pm for US Customs pre-clearance on the 13th. On Sept 11, 12 and 13, Landsea and West Coast Sightseeing depart Vancouver at 8 am and take 13.5 hours for the return tour. The 12th would work.

You could fly with Harbour Air from downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria in 35 minutes or so, have your visit around downtown Victoria, take CVS Cruise shuttle to Butchart (40 minutes each way) for 1.5 hour's visit, get back downtown before dusk to return on Harbour Air to downtown Vancouver.

www.harbour-air.com

www.cvscruisevictoria.com/butcharts.html ...... You are free on the grounds of Butchart, it's not organized, and you are free to take the shuttle of your choice back downtown.

Sept 12, HA departs about every 20 minutes. 8 am plane arrives in Vic harbour at 8h30 am. Last plane out of Victoria 19h00, arriving Van harbour at 19h35. That's a good amount of time to spend half the day in downtown Vic and half the day getting to, around, and back from Butchart.

Thanks for your information. The 12th was the date we planned to go to Victoria. On the 13th we plan to see more of Vancouver and then catch the train. Most probably we will stick with the tour in Victoria. Landsea seems as good as any other.

I've done both tours many times. Landaea tours would be my preference as they go downtown first then to the gardens when it's quieter and far less people in the later afternoon giving you more time in both locations. They are actually less money then west coast And in my opinion a better tour company
