Staying 3 nights - Info on what to see

We are staying in Victoria for 3 nights which amounts to 2.5 days in late April. One of the days we have plans to take the local transport to Butchart Gardens. We are stopping at the Best Western Inner Harbour so the .5 day will be spent wandering around the harbour area. We will be arriving from Seattle by ferry and also departing to Vancouver by the ferry. Any suggestions for the other spare day would be appreciated.

I could only repost the "directory" of highlights to choose from that you have already read on the Vancouver thread. I hope you have a very enjoyable visit.

You could explore the beautiful waterfront along Dallas Road, go for a walk and have ice cream in Beacon Hill Park, check out Fisherman's Wharf (and have fish and chips there) or have lunch at one of the pubs or tea rooms in Oak Bay. There is a scenic drive all along Dallas Road to Oak Bay and there are probably bus or carriage tours that offer that route. Another option would be to rent a car for the day and explore Sooke which is not far from downtown Victoria. Oh and don't forget Craigdarroch's Castle. I don't think you'll get bored just exploring any of these areas. You don't say if you're travelling with kids or just you and your spouse, but if you want a special treat, go for an evening drink at the Bengal Lounge in The Empress Hotel. It's not cheap but a real nice experience. Enjoy

Definitely include Craigdarroch Castle and the Royal BC Museum on your itinerary. For a sweet treat, Rogers' Chocolates on Govenment Street, just a couple blocks up from the Empress Hotel, is a must stop. They are a favorite of Queen Elizabeth II.
