Excellen restaurant end of street called Harour House. Pricy but excellent. Just across the street at the Royal Scot is Jonathons, VEry good, friendly, and moderately priced. Why would you eat at Day Inn? There are so many good restaurants in Victoria. Try Nautical Nellies for dinner. If you want a great place to stay with awesome rooms and suites check out the Royal Scot. We had a one BDRM suite with kitchen, large balcony last month for what we were paying at the Best Western almost next to you and it was a small room with kitchenette. Check it out.

We just got back from Victoria and enjoyed the fun ambience of staying at the small boutique hotel, The Bedford Regency!!! It is located on Government St. just blocks away from the Empress Hotel. The hotel has some rooms with fireplaces and jaccuzi tubs (which we took advantage of). The room we stayed in (room 49) is reported to be haunted which made it really fun since we were there near Halloween!!!! Great restaurants all around it. Go to Victoria. It is beautiful.

While there, take a leisurely 30 minute walk to the Craigdarroch Castle. It is fabulous!!!

Enjoy

Just around the corner, try Santiago's for South American food. Outstanding.

For a light dinner, try the lounge at Laurel Point. It's fun to watch harbour activities from there.

Get outta town! A fifteen minute drive to Cordova Bay will be a delight where you can eat at McMorrans--everything from fabulous seafood to steaks to simple chowders with a view of Juan de Fuca and the possibility of seeing a whale or two.

If you have a car, a funky wonderful dinner can be had at Carden Street Cafe. They don't advertise and that's because they are that good!

Sidney is another wonderful place to go to, about a half hour from downtown Victoria. I'd recommend the Stone House Pub. Rumrunners is also a good light meal (oh, probably heavy ones, too) and is on the water.
