Howe Street runs north-south through the heart of downtown Vancouver, but downtown Vancouver is actually really tiny. It's a tiny peninsula about 1 square mile in area. As a result, you're going to be within a short cab ride to every single restaurant located downtown.
What kind of cuisine are looking for? There's a lot of variety in Vancouver's dining scene, especially in terms of Asian cuisine and seafood.
One of my favourite restaurants is Parkside. They focus on local ingredients, and their menu changes every day: www.parksiderestaurant.ca
Yaletown (about a 5 minute cab ride south-east of your hotel) is a neighbourhood in downtown Vancouver that has at least 20 restaurants in a 4 block radius where you can simply stroll down the sidewalk and browse the menus to see what you'd like to eat.
Robson Street (a short walk up Howe Street from your hotel) also has many restaurants.
