Thanks to all the great advice on this forum, I now know where I will - or won't! - be eating once I have cleared US customs when flying from YVR to Hawaii.
But I am afraid I am still confused about 1 thing & can't seem to find straight answers on the 'net. Can anyone shed some light?
When I check in with Air Canada, I understand that my luggage gets tagged & goes through at the same time (as it always did - and in the good old days the airline employees would do the lifting and put it on the conveyor belt!). But I thought I read somewhere (can't find it now) that I MUST go through US customs & immigration/security AT EXACTLY THE SAME TIME? Is that correct? So that means I CANNOT check in, drop off my luggage, have a meal OUTSIDE security and go through customs/security later, is that right? If I were flying within BC, I could do that - but flying to the US I cannot??
Also, I thought I read somewhere (and again can't find it) that I have to be THROUGH customs & immigration 2 hours before flight? Is that right? Not looking forward to entertaining Miss 5 for 2 hrs before even getting on the plane....
THanks all! These forums are GREAT!
