I think you'd do fine without a car. Just have a nice lazy weekend and walk around lots. The weather is beautiful there right now - warm and sunny with lots of flowers out. What a switch from last year, when there were huge icy snowbanks well into March.
Some places to hang out:
-Muddy Waters for coffee
-Kim's for a big breakfast
-Old Settler for great pub food
-Yukiya Sushi for a light dinner
-Serenity Now if you need good reading material
-also the ladies' clothing store in the little mall is pretty good and worth a browse through the sale racks
It's also worth a walk up to the Ranger Gallery to see whatever art is on display.
If you get a bike (I think they are free if you are staying at the resort hotel), go south toward Agassiz and check out the coffee roaster/antiques/pottery place by the golf course and definitely check out Farmhouse Cheese. If you want to bike a bit farther, cross Hwy 7 and go to Limbert Mountain Farms for lunch. The food is delicious and the view is pastoral and quiet.
