Weather/road/trail conditions in late June/early July

I am planning a trip to Banff/Jasper in late June or early July. My question is: in a typical year -- are roads and lower trails (day hiking trails) open and accessible at this time? Thank you for helping!

Yes, they are, as are all tourist attractions. That is summer here in the Rockies, especially at the lower elevations. Only a few of the highest trails are still snowy by that point.

This year (2013), Canada Day (July 1) and the next few days were over 90F here in Jasper townsite. It was a bit cooler higher up, but I hiked on July 2 in shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt at over 8000 feet.

Great time to be here. The wet part of June should be done by then. I would be surprised if anything is snow affected.
