Live from Dreams Villa

Got here yesterday about 1PM. Greeted by Victoria and Johnny with 2 Cazadores margaritas on the rocks. After a short visit we were taken upstairs to check in. We were given room 1803. Top floor of the Preferred Club with a fantastic view overlooking the pools and the beach. Had lunch at Oceana where they now have an additional menu with a different burger special each day. Spent the afternoon at the main pool and played a little water volleyball. Walked down to the Sugar Reef Bar and reconnected with our bartender and waiter friends. Clouds were rolling in and by the time we went to dinner at Seaside, there was lighting over the bay. About 8:15, it started to rain so they moved us under cover at Oceana. Rain and wind really picked up and the water was rolling down the stairway like a river. The floor flooded with several inches of rain water. The waiters took off their shoes and rolled up their pants and continued to work. Everyone there laughed and had a great time. A unique dinner experience that we will always remember. By the time we finished dinner, it stopped raining and the howling wind was gone. We ended up in the lobby bar where we meet more new friends (mostly from Canada) and talked and laughed some more.

Woke up this morning to sun and clear skies. Breakfast at the World Cafe and now sitting by the pool. Time to get the day off with a good start with a Chongo Bobo (my version of a dirty monkey). Living the good life at Dreams.

Yaz; planning on going to Bucerias later this week.

Today was sunny and bright. Lots of people arrived yesterday and today. Heard that there are 3 weddings this week. Layed around the main pool and relaxed after a long day yesterday. Played some water volleyball but there wasn't any action for beach volleyball this afternoon. Lots of Canadians here. Having fun ribbing them as hockey is Canadian but Chicago has the Cup.

Gohen was closed last night because of the storm so planning on going up there after dinner tonight.

Betty from there is now a pool/beach waitress and Ishmael works days at World Cafe. Julio (speedy) from the pool waiter staff is now up at Gohen. He was working in the lobby bar last night because of the storm.

Free wifi now available through out the resort. You down load their free app and can also make free calls to land lines in US for free. Barb made 2 calls today. Has lots of other neat features too.

Is the free wi-fi available in your room or do you have to be in a common area of the resort for it to work? It's usually the best way for us to communicate with our family at home. Thanks.

They will help you (if needed ) to download the app. With it you have free Wi-fi anywhere on the resort including pools and beach plus your room and the common areas. As mentioned, it also allows free calls to the US and also Canada but it must be to a land line. If to a cell phone, the cell phone owner will be charged for the international minutes but your end of the call from here is still free for you.

Last night went to Gohen Sky Bar before dinner. Watched the sunset, had a drink and a little sushi. Went to Oceana for dinner. Grouper was very good as was Barb 's steak and shrimp. Both had the shrimp roll as an appy (one of our favs) and I had ceviche too. Finished the night back at Gohen with a few Bailey's on the rocks.

Woke this morning to another clear sunny day. After breakfast at World Cafe, we took thei free trolley down to Paradise Vilage. Bank there had computer problems so walked back 2 blocks to the bank next to the new casino. Exchanged pesos (got 12.5 exchange - I'm old school so don't like ATM's). Then Barb wanted to try the casino. You give them your money and they put it on a card. You put the card in the machine and play. A girl from there explained how to use the machine. Barb only wanted to try it so we put 50 pesos on the machine and were just going to do it for 5 minutes. She it a triple bonus on the first spin and 2 mor bonuses after that. Played for about 20 minutes and walked away with a little over 1100 pesos on the card. She didn't cash it in as she wants to go back again one evening.

We ended up walking back for some exercise. Something new for the week they are doing an Octoberfest. Thursday night will be a theme party but at lunch they grilled several sausages, had cabbage, apple streusel and several German beers. We tried it and it was very good.

Not much this afternoon after our long walk earlier. Just resting around the pool. Almost forgot, today is Canada's Thanksgiving so the activity hut has a large maple leaf flag and a couple of the activities guys had costumes for it. One was a Mountie and another had a flag shirt and cap. They walked around the pool taking pictures with the guests.

We are headed down to Nuevo in a few weeks - does it get cool enough in the evenings that you need a light sweater or is it still pretty warm at night? Thanks!
