Talavera shopping

Are there any recommendations on where to look for Talavera pottery? Any names of specific shops, or areas in the city?

The most famous, with a 400 year history, is Taller Uriarte. They have tours too.

I would also recommend Talavera de la Reyna. They are on the way to Cholula. They just opened up their new gallery and museum on the opposite side of the road from their shop. It's a big yellow building. The museum portion has works from the private collection of La Reyna that are done by many prominent Mexican artists including German Montalvo.

Uriarte is good as it is within walking distance of the centro plaza. They sometimes give tours depending on the day so you can see the factory.

There are many small shops and taller factories but these are two of the 9 that are certified.

Happy shopping!
