Formal Dress, Currency, Airport Transfers - RIU Santa Fe

On there website it states that "Formal Dress Required (main restaurant: T Shirts with sleeves for gentlemen; theme restaurants: long trousers and T Shirts with sleeves for gentlemen) - Do they enforce this strictly?

Also, can you give/leave tips and pay for excursions in dollars or does it have to be in Pesos? What is the best place to exchange US Dollars?

We booked Flights + Hotel through Travelocity - 2 adults and 2 kids (under 12) - should I book airport transfers in advance OR wait until we reach there? Should we do shared or private? Any recommendations?

Thank you.

Imnia, we've used Cielito Lindo well over a dozen times, not only for airport transfers, but cooking classes, sightseeing tours and turtle releases. We've always paid in cash (in full) upon arrival.

I would, however ask them how and when they want paid. We do heartily recommend them!

Don't forget to tip the driver!

Iminia - Yes there is a stand alone ATM machine at the Riu. in my earlier post I suggested NOT to ever use a stand alone ATM. I have never seen anyone use it. The recommendation is to use a Bank ATM to withdraw peso's. There are two Banks in the Plaza San Lucas where Walmart is located, and a Bank of Nova Scotia is at the Puerto Paraiso Shopping Mall in town. Yes you have to use a debt card at the ATM to get peso's. Just the same as in LA USA you use a debt card to get US dollars.
