Honeymooning in Cabo

We are heading to Cabo on Saturday, and we are staying at Presidente InterContinental Los Cabos. Does anyone know anything about it? Also, what would be the best way of getting to Cabo Wabo? By looking at the map, it seems far away.

Thank you!

You are in San Jose Del Cabo abd yes it is a distance to Cabo San Lucas. Option one is to take the bus between the cities, A couple of bucks each way PP. But they quit running about 1000pm. Either cut off early or plan on a spendy cab ride back. I think anout 60-75 dollars for up to 4 people. Otherwise, rent a car and be able to really explore the region. BUT have a designated driver. Mexican Jail not a 5 star resort!!!

Ethan,

This is a beautiful property very near the estuary in SJD about 9 miles from the airport. the cab ride from the air port ot the property is about 35.00 so renting a car is really something to consider. The car gives you a degree of autonomy that you cannot get from the bus services or the expensive cabs. Cabo Wabo is great but remember there is so much more to Los Cabos than this. Tell me how i can help and i will. Buena Suerte. jim

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Be sure to tell your travel agent that you are honeymooners. El Presidente will upgrade you by one category. Make sure your voucher clearly states that you are celebrating your honeymooon and take along a photocopy of your marriage certificate.

So, if you are booked in garden view, they'll upgrade you to superior and if booked in superior then you'll be upgraded automatically to a ground floor ocean view room. Last week, I saw one of the rooms that had been prepared for honeymooners and would love to tell you all of the things they had done to make the room extra special, but.........it would spoil the surprise!

Obviously, the hotel needs advance notice in order to prepare the room as beautifully as the one I saw, so again, please check with whomever you made your reservation to ensure that the hotel has been advised.

About the night club tour. Your best bet would be to take the "Night Crawl" offered by Royal Solaris/DM Services. It costs $25 p.p. includes r/t transportation and visits to Cabo Wabo, Giggling Marlin and Squid Roe. It leaves at 9 a.m. and returns at 2.30 p.m. and has an escort who can get 2 for 1 drinks and other VIP treatment for the group that's on the tour. It only operates on Thursdays and the trip itself is fun because everyone is in a party mood :)

You can buy tickets from Moto Rental (Oscar) next to Palmita Market (opposite Royal Solaris) or from the travel agency inside of Royal Solaris. Ditto on excursions.

Have a great trip. El Presidente is beautiful.

Jen,

We spent our honeymoon at the Presidente and loved it. It is a relatively quiet place, about 30 minutes from Cabo San Lucas. The hotel has a shuttle that goes to CSL 3 times a day for $10 each, round-trip. We took the noon-ish shuttle when we booked a dinner cruise, and then a cab back, $35. We couldn't take the shuttle back because they allow you to only take the 4 pm (or so) shuttle back if you take the noon in, and we wanted more time than they allowed. The shuttle was still cheaper than a cab one way.

Look for my trip report in the search function. Search for "trip report presidente", or something like that. It was in July/August. I also used the word "fabulous" if that helps. We went to Cabo Wabo, and weren't overly impressed, but it was a nice place to hang out and have a Margarita out of the sun. It looks over a small set of outdoor merchants, so we spied on what they had to sell while we "chilled".

Let me know if you have any other questions. If you can, I'd highly recommend securing a ground-floor room. They have a nice patio with a hamock. You can't sleep with the doors open that way (ground floor), but we really liked it.

H&S.

Cabofantastic, I hope you have your times confused for the bar crawl. 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM would be kind of boring!

LOL ElJefe. Ask me left or right and I'm equally as bad! It leaves at 9 p.m. and returns at 2.30 a.m.
