I've been reading all the raves about Gordo Lele's, but have missed where it is? Can someone fill me in?

Also, when we were in Cabo last year, I thought I saw a new Tapas/Wine bar above La Quesadilla. Does anyone know if it's still there??

Thank you!

Info from others... "Gordo Leles is a hole in the wall with only a couple of tables, but has the BEST tacos in Cabo. It is on Vicente Guerreros around the corner from Siesta Suites and up from the Shrimp Factory. Down the street from the main entrance of Cabo Wabo. Gordo LeLe Literally a "hole in the wall" taco and torta stand owned and operated by Javier. Located 2 blocks down from the Cabo Wabo gift shop."

It's on Guerrero between Zapata & Madero. If you look at the location of Siesta Suites on their website map http://www.cabosiestasuites.com/map.htm, Gordo Lele's is above the second "a" in "Zapata", just around the corner from the Siesta Suites. It's well worth the hunt to find it!

(We bought tacos & tortas from our local "Taco Truck" today, but they just aren't as good as Javier's. And it's raining and 50 degrees here. We miss Cabo!)

Actually-Gordo Lele's is shown on the map now :-) which is great for his business, and bad for those of us that have to wait in line :-)

I think the arrow for Gordo Lele's is off by a block, but I'm not sure. (Maybe I should book a quick trip to Cabo to check it out!)

PacificNW, After close study of our map, we are off by a block or so. The arrow should point to 25 feet north of the corner of Vincent Guerraro and Zapata on the west side of the street. I will correct our map today. Here is a picture of Gordo and his menus from our website:

helmbrechtsonline.com/Cabo/Cabo_street_vendo…

A stop at Godo's is a must for every trip. I call it a "Picnic on the Sidewalk in Cabo San Lucas" after getting some cold beer from across the street. He is getting attention. I've had to wait for one of the two tables or three chairs the last two times I was there. However, it's definitely worth the wait! If he's in the mood and not busy he'll sing you a Beatles tune. Most women can get him in the mood!!! There are more pictures of Gordo singing and cooking in the photo section of our website.

Gordo Lele has moved. He is up the street from the Corner Bar on the right hand side of the street just before the Milagros Hotel. He was in the midst of getting his new place finished up when we arrived the second week in December 08. He was to open on December 11th, but made me a sandwich for my birthday on December 10th. While we sat and ate more people who know Javier stopped in, ordered sandwiches and he opened for business at that time. His shop is 1.5 blocks up from the Gigglin Marlin. Find him and enjoy!

Snelldog is correct! We just returned from Cabo (thanks to all the great tips on this forum) and stopped by to see Javier. After great tacos, he suprised us with some fabulous Beatles songs. He has a spectacular voice!

Make note that Gordo Leles is up the street from Girgling Marlin and is now on Matamoros street.

My teen age kids say he was the hit of our entire trip!

Doug
