Which is the best iternary

I am thinking of doing a trip.

3nights in GDL,

4 nights in San Miguel de Allende

8 nights in PVR

Not fully sure the best way to go about this.

If I should fly into GDL first or should we start with San Miguel first?

It seems as if there are no flights between San Miguel and GDL only the bus.

I was thinking of flying from GDL to PVR.

is it possible to fly from San Miguel to Mexico City and then on to PVR?

San Miguel doesn't have an airport - nearest is Queretaro (QRO) or Leon (BJX) and are at least an hour away. The bus journey SMA-GDL and GDL-PVR are around 5 1/2 hours and 5 hours respectively. Certainly SMA-GDL by air will involve going through Mexico City and won't be any quicker and of course air travel is a lot more expensive. I would start in SMA, bus to Guadalajara and then bus to PV.

Thanks that actually makes a lot of sense as the worst travel day would be the first and then take buses which would make it easy

Agree...we've taken the bus to and from SMA to GDL...easy. Would recommend ETN - more comfortable and I've heard better security. We also have taken Interjet within Mexico...great airline.

The Toll Road between state of Guanajuato & Guadalajara is excellent. Makes for a pleasant ride.

You might consider Manzanillo over PV. Closer to Gudalajara & lots to see including Colima's twin Volcanoes, Meleque etc.
