Hi,

We have stayed at Galley Bay twice and we are looking for the very same style. Any thought travelers? Thanks!

I've been pondering the same question myself, UrbanCryer. We love Galley Bay but worry about getting tired of it--we've also been there twice. On Anitigua, Cocobay looks like a similar style but with one less star. Another Elite Island Resorts property, Palm Island (St. Vincent/Grenadines) looks promising too. We used to go to Couples Swept Away in Negril, but they've expanded it and the reviews on this site seem to indicate that the character of the resort changed (for the worse) as a result. A friend recommended Little Arches on Barbados, but it's not all-inclusive and doesn't appear to be adults-only. It's not easy finding small-scale, low-key, adults-only all-inclusives that possess an understated elegance! My current tactic is to look for what's popular with Brits, since the Galley Bay style is quite popular with them!

Try Palm Island. You'll love it. We stayed at both and actually preferred Palm Island. Just a little harder to get to, but well worth it. The Grenadines are spectacular.

Try Palm Island (same owners) in the Grenadines. You won't be disappointed. We've been to both, Palm Island is a smaller resort on its own island. The Grenadines are spectacular, incredible snorkeling and sailing. The resort has wonderful food, great beach, lovely accomodations.

We stayed at Sandpiper Hotel on the west coast of Barbados last year and it was wonderful. It's not AI but you can select to have breakfast and dinner included. All meals couldn't be bettered in our opinion. We opted to eat some nights at the hotel and others outside. We didn't find a better one outwith the hotel so ended up eating there more than we had intended.

It's not a large place and the staff are so friendly we'd return in a minute and recommend it to anyone who enjoys comfort and relaxed surroundings. It is closed for a time during this year to have some alterations done. The sister hotel is the Coral Reef Club further up the coast. It is a bit grander, and more expensive, but has a great reputation.

I just got back from Palm. I booked through www.canegarten.com and saved a bit from booking through elite. Worth it all! Happy travels.

I have to say that I was not happy with Palm Island, some issues arose over broken glass tables and cold food not to mention actually running out of food on the beach barby. But, each to their own, like the comments within TA re Galley Bay, maybe we'll give that a go.
