Posada lamar |
|
I made a reservation for Posada Lamar about a month ago and will be there Feb 14-19. Just wondering if anyone can tell me about their beach--are there beach chairs or hammocks available for guests? Also, we're staying in Bungalow RUBI and I wonder if anyone has photos or can comment on the bathroom (there's no photo on the website) or whether there's a deck or hammock (my fantasy of vacation includes a lot of reading in a hammock.) Finally, a recent review mentions the less-than-pristine sheets. Can anyone comment on management's receptiveness to addressing that sort of thing, or to cleanliness or rooms (ie bugs/cockroaches) in general? Thanks so much!! |

I'm staying there a week or so after you leave, but I think they have chairs and hammocks and such. There are a few photos of Rubi on the website, one shows the front the building, and it looks like there's a little porch there. I've found that where there's a porch in Mexico, there's a hammock, and if there isn't, they can put one up for you. I haven't asked them specifically (though you could), but I heard someone here say a few weeks ago that Lamar had recently purchased new beach furniture, so I'm sure they have good stuff. And if you don't like what you've got there, you can always go next door to Kin-Ha, buy a beer and spend time in their hammocks (I know they have a lot). Oh, and if you didn't see more than the one picture of Rufi that opens when you click on the room name on the left, look to the right where it says "photos", and click on the little empty boxes there. You'll get more pictures. They don't have a good shot of the bathroom, but you can get a sense of it. Looks like the sink is between the bed area and the toilet/shower area. No doors on the bathroom, but that's pretty common down there. Have a great trip, and I hope you post a review and pictures (you can post all the pictures you wish others had posted) as soon as you get back!

Oh, and about the sheets, I just re-read that person's review and it struck me that the most common way to make sheets really white is to use bleach, not the most eco-friendly product in the world. I don't know from the Lamar's point of view, but as long as the sheets are clean, I wouldn't worry about a bit of color. We are staying at an eco-resort after all! Having said that, I might be bringing my own pillow and pillow case because I'm sort of picky. If anyone's concerned about the cleanliness of the linens, mabe a fresh pillow case would be an easy thing to pack?
