I'm very excited about my upcomming trip to Cabanas Copal (2/8 - 2/13).

I was wondering if the Beach Bar is back open...the wading pool is open and if the resturant deck construction has been completed.

I've appreciated all of the great posts people have made to trip advisor. This is a great site with great users!

PS - I'd love to hear if you'll be there at the same time.

Beach bar: I posted the details on this on another thread, but it all depends on the licenses. We hope to have it open by Monday the 29th. However, we have a waiter stationed on the beach to provide drinks and meals in the meantime.

Pool: it was only closed for a week when our retaining wall that was built after Wilma had to be reinforced. It is now open.

Beach bar deck: construction is finished.

Visited Jan 5-9 and the beach bar was not open. The constructon on the beach retaining wall was complete and the wading pool was open.
