O.K., I need to vent...

I just read a review on the BPT saying that it was "hot", the "food was terrible" and the Tulum beach was "full of rocks".

To the remark it was too hot. Well it is Mexico, it is in the middle of the summer, what did you expect?

As for the food being terrible, I will agree with the remark about the Tequila and the Tortuga because we too didn't like it, but don't slam the rest of the ala cartes and every morsel you ate.

There is air conditioning in the Don Pablo (unless, of course, it wasn't working) as we froze eating our dinner and we went twice during our two weeks (April 2005). It used to be called Mamma Mia (Italian) and the air was blowing at that time to (April 2003).

As for the Yucatan Buffet, yes it could get warm, but they ALWAYS have the windows open and there is a wonderful breeze blowing through.

As for the "rocks" on the Tulum side, that would be a mix of living, breathing coral at the ocean's edge and yes there are some rocks, but once you get past them, it is sandy bottom until you hit the man made breakers and even after that it is sandy bottom.

They stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Cancun, well isn't that a huge chain of resorts spread throughout North America. People you are in Mexico, not North America and things are going to be different to say the least.

Sorry, just needed to vent.

Some people just don't get it! Didn't they research and see that the temperature tends to be in the 90's this time of year? Sheesh! Yes, it's hot there! And, the food is different from what you have at home! If you want everything to be just like home, stay home! I think the beach at the Bahia is a perfect mix, parts of it are sandy, parts of it are rocky for climbing and exploring. You might have to walk down the shore a bit to get to the sandy part, oh no! Amazing what some people expect.

Thank you all for responding - I thought I was the only one reading these reviews and shaking my head.

I'm honestly starting to believe that some of these people should just not leave home - obviously nothing satisfies them.

I consider myself to be pretty picky and I loved Bahia Principe Tulum....in fact I'm going again in only 18 days! Yippee!

Have a great time Sandinmypants, hug a palm tree for me!

Also, I agree, if you are going to trash a place because it isn't up to North American standards then...please stay home. I know, I know, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

I am a Bahia nut, so I guess it makes my blood boil a little bit when people attack our favourite resort.

Go with an open mind, remember, you are on holiday, sit back, relax and enjoy!
