For everyone out there who is "speculating" on Xpu-Ha Palace & Club Maeva: Once in a while I come to this site to read what folks have to say about Palace Resorts, good or bad. Most of the time, I get a good chuckle from some of the "rumors" & mis-information floating around out there, written as if it were the "gospel".

Sadly, just because many are "membership" owners, does not mean their information is totally correct...they are not the owners, nor are they privy to all information.

First of all, yes, Palace Resorts has purchased Club Maeva. It will not carry the Palace Resorts name until AUG07 at which time it will be brought up to the full Palace Resorts standards which include Double Jacuzzi in every room, in-room liquor dispenser, mini-bar, 24 hr room service & included high-speed wireless internet access.

In the meantime, Palace Resorts is upgrading the food & adding more staff to better serve their guests. Many loyal Club Maeva guests will most probably be unhappy with the changes, but hey...that's business & the resort will be better off for it. The rates are incredibly cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Xpu-Ha guests have full exchange privileges with Club Maeva & able to use all facilities at the resort. They have the advantage of the continuous lobby-to-lobby transportation which runs from 7am-1am. Be clear on this...ONLY Xpu-Ha guests have exchange privileges...not Aventura Spa Palace guests or guests of any other Palace Resorts. Club Maeva guests DO NOT have exchange privileges @ Xpu-Ha Palace. This also applies to the Palace Passport -Palace Resorts guest only.

Xpu-Ha Palace has re-opened with 144 rooms...the same wonderful bungalows & brand-new pools with swim-up bars & two new restaurants...a fantastic kiddie pool with water slide. Yes, it is smaller & more intimate & everyone will just have to be patient with regards to the rest of the acreage.

For you "members" wondering about Le Blanc Spa Resort...this is indeed owned by Palace Resorts. It is not branded as a Palace Resort...it is a totally separate BRAND of ultra luxury resort within the Palace Resorts umbrella. This is why it has a separate website & Palace Resorts is not in the name. Because the resort is totally different & features much more amenities than the Palace Resorts, the rates are indeed higher. There are no investors, there is no hidden agenda on the part of Palace Resorts...it is simply a different brand, not included in the Palace Resorts brand. Sometimes when you call, you may end up talking to a "new" person who may not understand this & perhaps give you an erroneous answer.

Hopefully this clears up a few things.

Okay then I guess we are "just" Premier members...so no right to use the newer resorts if I am understanding prior posts. However, as I mentioned to my husband this am, for another $20-30k I can book them thru Apple for years to come!

I AM a VIP member (with 125 presidental weeks) and as I posted earlier I just returned from ASP June 18th and I sat in front of 3 sales people who all gave me the same spill, in person, in the flesh, not on the phone, not via email, not by fax, in person and what they told me was no Grand, no PC, no LeBlanc and no RCI plus unless I upgraded again for these places. I really, really hope that the latest news is correct but considering that my hubby and I and our best friends (also VIP members) were given the same speech on Tuesday, June 13th at the MP I just find it too good to be true. BTY: we chose to go to the membership update at MP because they paid for our taxi to and from ASP, gave us 200.00 palace money, 2 back massages & 2 t-shirts) ASP only offered us 50.00 palace money. I sure wish someone could get something in writing.

We just have to chalk it up that it's another person (s)on a different day giving us members a different story! Yes, I hope the latest information is correct but next week or tomorrow it will be different. It would be nice if we could all get the same information to say the least.

As a Palace members since '92, which is 14 years, I can verify that I have been told so many stories I cannot keep them straight! I also have found that the sales people lie, lie and lie some more to get your money!!!

lovestovacation - just curious since you've been a member for so long...Is this a new thing for Palace to tell 'older' members they can't use a new resort unless they 'upgrade'? Or do they make you pay up again so you can continue to get 'priority room assignment' or any other items? What was the resort you started with? Thanks for your response in advance.

Rtsmudbug....Why don't we start a dedicated Palace Resort Members forum. Perhaps we can attract more members who can share their experiences. It may be a dream, but perhaps someone from Palace resorts in Miami as well as someone from Profeco (Mexico's Consumer Protection Agency) could join in as well....Hey just a thought....I can dream...

I'm in - but not sure where it would be posted. My ideas after thinking for 15 seconds: 1) Start a general "PALACE RESORTS MEMBERS FORUM" thread under Yucatan Peninsula and start specific threads in each appropriate area for individual resorts "PALACE RESORTS MEMBERS ASP FORUM" "PALACE RESORTS Puerto Vallarta Palace FORUM" etc. and when general questions come up just encourage everyone to redirect their question to the general forum.

2) Under Yucatan Peninsula if there is enough interest start 'sub-forums' (such as 'roll calls', 'looking to share Presidential suite', contract issues, 'what presentation deal did you get', etc).

3) A problem with this will be that most of what is posted is still 'speculation' and fodder for Loyalty's chuckling, unless we can actually get a Palace rep to identify themselves and stick to whatever is posted. I'm sure if it generated enough interest, we'd at least count on them monitoring the board...maybe silently at least.

4) We'll still run into the same problem you see everywhere else in that a lot of TA users don't understand the "Search" function. If I see "ASP HAS NO BEACH???" one more time....

We've pretty much worn out this thread on the initial topic, so we should move it to another soon...

Great idea! Count me in. I will see if anyone we deal with at Palace would be willing to help out also, but I do not know if I will be successful.
